Your first visit to Perfecting Smiles with Gentle Hands establishes a vital foundation for our relationship with you.
During the first visit, we make sure to obtain important background information, like your medical history, and give you time to get to know Dr. Bolen. To understand what to expect for your first visit to our practice, please read through this page.
To allow sufficient time for this first visit you should arrive within 10-15 minutes before your appointment time to fill out new patient forms. You can even save some time at your first visit by printing out and completing the patient forms in advance of your appointment. Recent diagnostic radiographs can be provided by a previous dentist for your first visit. Radiographs will be taken to determine decayed teeth, nerve damaged teeth, position of teeth, impacted teeth, bone abnormalities, dental infections and jaw bone levels. Probing depths of the gingival tissue will be measured to help determine your periodontal health. A clinical exam will be performed to evaluate the condition of your oral cavity and evaluate for oral cancer. A routine cleaning for patients with healthy gums can normally be performed on this initial visit.
We want all our patients to be informed decision makers and fully understand any dental issues you face. Therefore at the end of your initial visit if you need more time to review with Dr. Bolen you can schedule a consultation appointment for further review. At the end of your initial visit, you will be given a treatment plan detailing treatment options and estimated cost.
